Appliance not working?

Local appliance and TV help in Inverness and across the Highlands

Appliance or TV not working? Before you book an engineer, speak to us.

If your washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, cooker or television is not working properly, call us first. We can usually help you work out the right next step in a few minutes — whether that means checking something simple, speaking to a repair engineer, checking warranty options, or replacing the product.

We are not repair engineers, but after more than 25 years supplying, delivering and installing appliances and TVs across Inverness and the Highlands, we know the common issues, the practical warning signs, and when repair may no longer make financial sense.

Call us before you lose time in the wrong direction

When something fails at home, the natural reaction is to search for an engineer, contact the manufacturer, or start browsing replacements online. Sometimes that is the right route — but not always.

A quick call to us can help you avoid wasting time, booking the wrong help, or replacing something before you understand the options.

Our advice is simple: if you are not sure what to do next, call us first.

Why customers call us first

Most customers call us before contacting a repair engineer, manufacturer or another retailer because they want a straight, practical answer. We deal with these problems every week — from washing machines stopping mid-cycle and refrigeration failures that cannot wait, to TVs with picture, sound, setup or connection issues.

Because we supply, deliver and install appliances and televisions every day, we can help you sense-check the situation quickly. If we think repair is worth exploring, we’ll say so. If replacement looks more practical, we’ll explain why and help you understand the realistic options.

How we can help

Talk through the fault or issue

Tell us what the appliance or TV is doing, how old it is, and whether any warning lights, noises, error codes, picture problems or sound issues are showing.

Check the obvious first

We can help you rule out simple issues such as power, water supply, filters, doors, settings, inputs, cables or connection problems.

Sense-check repair vs replacement

We’ll help you judge whether it sounds like something worth asking a repair engineer about, or whether replacement may be the more sensible route.

Check warranty routes

If the product may still be under warranty, we can help you understand what information you may need and who the correct next contact is.

Check suitable replacement options

If replacement is needed, we’ll guide you towards the right appliance or TV for your home, space, viewing habits and budget.

Deliver and install properly

Our own team can deliver, install, set up, test and make sure everything is working before we leave.

Before you replace anything

It is worth checking a few simple things first. These checks do not fix every fault, but they can sometimes save unnecessary call-outs, panic buying or replacing something that only needed a simple check.

  • Has the appliance or TV definitely got power?
  • Has a fuse tripped?
  • Is the water supply turned on, where relevant?
  • Is the appliance showing an error code?
  • Is the door closing properly?
  • Has the filter been checked or cleaned?
  • Has it been switched off and restarted?
  • For TVs, is the correct input or source selected?
  • For TVs, are the aerial, HDMI cables or connected devices working properly?
  • Is the product still under warranty?

If you are unsure after checking the basics, give us a call — we’ll help you decide quickly whether it is worth repairing, checking warranty support, or looking at replacement.

Repair or replacement: what makes sense?

When repair may be the right route

Repair can make sense when the product is fairly new, the fault is likely to be minor, parts are readily available, or the cost of repair is sensible compared with the cost of replacement.

With televisions, some issues can be caused by settings, inputs, HDMI devices, aerial signal problems or software behaviour rather than the TV itself. With appliances, some faults can be caused by filters, water supply, drainage, levelling or installation issues.

When replacement may make more sense

Replacement may be more practical when the product is older, the fault is likely to be expensive, parts are difficult to source, the issue keeps returning, or the appliance or TV is already near the end of its useful life.

If replacement is the most sensible route, we can help you avoid buying the wrong product, check measurements and access, arrange delivery, install properly, set everything up and remove the old unit where required.

We’ll be straight with you. We would rather point you in the right direction than push you towards a new product when repair is clearly the better option.

Bought from us? Definitely call us first.

If you bought the appliance or TV from Panasonic Store Inverness, call us before you contact anyone else. We may be able to check the purchase history, advise on warranty routes, explain what information the manufacturer may need, or help you decide whether repair or replacement is the more practical option.

Even if the product is outside warranty, we can still help you work out the next sensible step.

What happens if you need a replacement?

We check the basics

We’ll ask the right questions about the product, the fault, the age, the warranty position and the space it fits into.

We find suitable options

We’ll check local stock and available supply, then explain realistic choices without making it more complicated than it needs to be.

We arrange delivery

We’ll agree the next practical delivery and installation option with you, based on availability and the work required.

We install properly

Our own team will install, set up, test and make sure everything is working before we leave.

Information that helps us advise you

When you contact us, it helps if you can tell us:

  • What type of product it is
  • The brand and approximate age
  • Whether you bought it from us
  • What fault, error code, picture issue, sound issue or warning light is showing
  • Whether it is freestanding, integrated, wall-mounted or built-in
  • Any size restrictions, access issues or installation details
  • Whether the product is still under warranty

Do not worry if you do not have all of that information. We can still talk it through.

Local stock and regular supply

We hold a range of appliances and televisions locally in Inverness and also receive regular stock through our supply network. That means we can often help quickly when a failure causes disruption at home.

Availability changes daily, so the best thing to do is call us with the product type, size, brand, age and fault. We can check what is suitable, what is available, and what can realistically be delivered and installed.

Not sure whether you need an engineer?

That is exactly the kind of situation where a quick call helps. We cannot diagnose every fault over the phone, and we are not a repair company, but we can often help you understand whether an engineer, manufacturer, warranty route or replacement is likely to be the right next step.

The aim is not to guess. The aim is to stop you wasting time, money or effort in the wrong direction.
